GWPT completes its new commercial Bio-Energy Access and Recovery (BEAR) system mobile technology, a variation on the MERC 4000.
The BEAR 1500-50 delivers 50kW of electricity and 100kW thermal per hour continuously from 1.5 tonnes of woody biomass waste per day.
Testing procedures are ongoing and will culminate at the CETC in Ottawa in the fall of 2017.

In fiscal 2014 construction was completed on the mobile steel frame and platform (MFP) that carries the entire system for crane pick-up including operable gates and transport lugs. The gas filtration regime design/build process was begun (originally planned for construction at the CETC)   and all key components were positioned on the base frame bringing together the entire prototype as a whole.

Together with Fulton Engineered Specialties GWPT completes the first stage of the gas filtration modules and heat exchangers on the MERC 4000 stand-alone micro waste converter in Caledon Ontario. Final engine selection and CPU design is slated for June 2014 with CANMET and 3rd party advisors prior to delivery to CANMET in Ottawa for testing this fall.
